A patient had spent 12 years in an
asylum but the doctors were hopeful that he was beginning to respond
to treatment. One day, they decided to test their belief by taking him
to the movies. As they entered the cinema, there was a sign on the
seats saying "wet paint". The doctors disregarded the
sign but were delighted when the patient placed a newspaper on the
seat before sitting down. They were certain that his actions proved
that he was finally in touch with reality, so they asked him, why he
had put the newspaper on the seat.
He replied , "So I'd be higher
up and have a better view."
