Device
to know your ovulation Time
Knowing when the time is right to try
for a baby could be much easier. In another words it may be much more
comfortable now to know when not to try for a baby ! Biotechnology and
medical diagnostic company Pheromone Sciences of Vancouver, Canada,
has developed a wrist watch like gadget that tells women when they are
about to ovulate and are most likely to conceive.
This gadget works by measuring changes
in the acidity of sweat. This is determined by the hormone
levels which indicate the woman's fertility status. The PSC
Fertility Monitor can indicate if a woman is fertile, non -fertile
or ovulating. This device is worn at night while sleeping, it includes
a chemical sensor and a microprocessor that calculates the changes
which are displayed on the device.
Trials showed that the device correctly
predicted ovulation to within two days in 76 % of subjects.
Women are mostly fertile and likely to
ovulate halfway through their monthly cycle, usually days 10-17. But
many women do not fit into this pattern.
Knowing the time of ovulation for a
woman may be very important if she is trying to have a baby and also
if she want to avoid having one.
